We turned 29 this year!, and June is such a busy month for us. Jason's birthday, Father's Day, now Holden's birthday! So this year we did a family celebration for Jason's birthday at the new Razorback Pizza in Hot Springs. It was a little dark in the room and this photo was taken with Lacy's Iphone so from L to R: Lacy, Larry, Lynne, Jason, Hudson, Me, Mom, Holden, Pat, and Drew. Jason got new workout clothes and swim trunks, and then we had the float trip (see earlier post).
Holden is so smart and funny! This is him smashing his face against the glass at Razorback Pizza. He does the cutest things without any prompting: he will put on any hat, pair of sunglasses, shoes etc. He wants to entertain, just like his daddy.
Father's Day @ The Youngblood family reunion in Grannis, AR
This may be May actually. Lacy and my cousin Ty Sullivan @ Rolando's Restaurant in Hot Springs. Ty came up for the weekend for a basketball tournament and went to the horse races and to visit with us. Hudson was a little intimidated by his height.
Our last time buying Yarnell's Ice Cream at the grocery store. Yarnell's was an Arkansas based ice cream company that went out of business in July 2011.
My little Ironman. He loves to wear this costume. It was his Halloween costume from the previous year. It is entirely too small for him but he wears it almost every day still. He has two large tears in it.
Milestones to mention for July: He has cut 2 jaw teeth, that makes 8 teeth I believe. He is walking nearly running everywhere, He knows how to play chase, his language is coming right along. He follows commands for me, "Go get that book" "Let's go change your diaper", He's communicating with gestures and speech: ie: when he wants his cup filled up, he brings it to me and whines, then walks towards the refrigerator until I get up to refill it, He does the same thing when he is ready for a nap, whines, holds your hand and then walks towards the stairs, he eats everything except popcorn and steak of course!, he is sleeping all night long in his crib, he doesn't cry often when I lay him down, he is taking 2 naps for 1 to 1 1/2 hours each (Hudson still takes one long nap each day usually 2-3 hours depending on where he is), he stays overnight with his grandparents at times, he tries to say so much but not clearly of course. He repeats words and he finally let me read to him! He does not watch TV, but loves music of any kind and has the best dancing skills I've ever seen for a baby. He is for sure like his daddy. What a big boy (12months)
Hudson (3 1/2) just got new books: If I Built a Car, Learning to Ski With Mr McGee, A Camping Spree with Mr. McGee, First the Egg, The Very Quiet Cricket. Love all of our new books. We read these everyday right now. He is still very much into superhero's: this week his favorites are Hulk and Ironman, mommy always has to be Spiderman. He did say he wanted to be Batman for Halloween though. He is watching the Avengers, loves anything on PBS, loves Dinosaurs and the Land Before Time, Superhero Squad, of course Tom and Jerry, and now Scooby Doo, he is finally becoming interested in letters, sounds, and words. He eats about half as much as Holden, and has gotten really skinny! His teacher at school says that he is the 'most polite' child always says please, and thank you, which is very true. He is such a very sweet boy. He plays with me sometimes and says 'Now mommy, I don't want any more kisses" in his very stern voice, but only because he wants me to pretend to get my feelings hurt so he can give me a hug and kiss and he says he misses me. He is consistently falling asleep in our bed at 8 at night and then is moved to his bed when we come upstairs. He usually makes his way back into our room about 5 or 6am. He is potty trained although he still wets the bed on occassion at night so we are still wearing pull ups only for bedtime. He is an amazingly smart child. He has a very extensive vocabulary and understands so much, he likes repitition and seems to learn best from being read to and seeing the pictures. He is independent and stubborn, just like his mommy and only wants to learn something new on his terms! He does a lot of role playing and telling stories. He tells me stories. He loves getting his brother in trouble but also loves to take up for him, to care for him. They entertain one another so much. Holden thinks that his brother hung the moon. Hudson says he wants to have a Tom and Jerry birthday party, but we have until November to decide.
